Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of this course is to acquaint students with properties of rocks and mountain massif with anticipation manifestations and measurement of rock mass, the stability of mine workings and the stress strain state mountain range.

Subject deals with properties of rocks and rock mass, forecasts of rock mass behaviour and with measurement of rock mass manifestation, mine workings stability and stabilization of rock mass.

Primary stress field Secondary (mining activity) induced stress field Principles of methods of stress in rock mass Theoretical basis for measuring the voltage Determination of the full stress tensor (deformation of the borehole diameter, the deformation of the two borehole, deformation of the walls of the borehole) Theoretical basis of some other methods (embedded sensors, hydraulic cushions fotoelasticimetrická and ultrasonic methods, etc.) Selected methods and apparatus for measurement and evaluation of stress fields and their changes
