Summary

The subject of Geodesy II is a co-requisite of the subject of Geodesy I and deals with the theory of heights, principles and methods of height determination, methods of measurement of planimetry and altimetry, calculations of areas and volumes, technology of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and transformation of plane and spatial coordinates.

Subject syllabus:

1. Introduction to the theory of heights. 2. Height point field, classification, history of building, stabilization. 3. Height reference systems, basic characteristics. 4. Methods of determination of cant, leveling instruments, sources of errors, verification of correctness. 5. Geometric leveling, systematic errors, principle. 6. Trigonometric method of determination of cant, principle, refraction. 7. Tachymmetry, measurement methodology, instruments and aids. 8. Methods of measurement of planimetry, data processing and interpretation. 9. Methods of altimetry measurement, data processing and interpretation. 10. Determination of surfaces and volumes. 11. GNSS technology, basic concepts, measurement technology. 12. GNSS technology, measurement methods, systematic errors, method of processing. 13. Satellite navigation systems, permutation stations systems, legislation. 14. Coordinate transformation, planar, spatial.
