The aim of the course is to obtain basic information about the possible consequences of underground mining deposits, principles of forecast calculations and methods of protection on surface, mining and surface objects.

The subject deals with causes of surface movement as a result of mining subsidence, theory of fully-effective area, methods of prognosis calculation of mining subsidence, possibilities of protection of surface, mining and overground objects.

Lectures:
1st Theoretical shape of subsidence trough, and deformation parameters of movement, movement in the overburden of the mined deposits, limiting the impact angle
2nd Computer analysis of prognostic calculations of the influence by undermining
3rd Mining and non-mining damages and causes of their formation, limits of the influence by undermining
4th Influence by undermining on the structures, linear objects
5th Ensuring the stability of surface objects, preventive protection
6th Ribs surface objects, construction of protective ribs, the principle of legislative protection of surface
7th The mining report and its contents
8th The influence of mining activities on surface morphology
9th Engineering and surveying work of the undermined area
10th Ecological aspects of the influence by undermining in the mining landscape
11th The main principles of design objects in the undermined area
12th Effects of ground deformation on the substructure
Exercise:
1st The determination limits of the influence by undermining on the basis of the measured subsidence, the longitudinal profile of the subsidence trough measured results
2nd Determination of tilt, radius of curvature of the measured results
3rd Theoretical calculation of the influence by undermining on the computer
4th Preparation of maps isoparms subsidence and isoparms of deformation parameters, allocation of areas to CSN 730 039, depending on the size of the threat objects
5th Construction of the protective ribs pit in a flat depositing and various thickness cover
