Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student demonstrates knowledge and understanding of: - basic theoretical and legislative knowledge of business, - basic concepts, forms, functions and meanings of business and strategic planning, - the structure and particulars of the business plan as the primary strategic plan of the enterprise, - basic management methods and tools of strategic and project management, - basic orientation in raw material markets. Student can: - interpret the nature, roles and functions of entrepreneurship, - to evaluate the well-known state of practice, to appreciate the main factors of change in the current state and knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship - grasp and understand the essence of the owner, economic decision-making, management and management of business processes, - Apply basic management tools - realize, solve and elaborate business plan in chosen area of ​​business with relation to raw material resources. Student is able to: - create a vision, mission and business goals, - analyze, characterize and orientate in the business environment of the Czech Republic, - create, compile into real form and defend a concrete business plan for a fictitious company (semestral work).

Předmět prezentuje problematiku a základními principy podnikání obecně, s následnou konkretizací na trhy a podnikání se surovinovými zdroji. Seznamuje s prvky podnikatelské prostředí, legislativním rámcem podnikání, nástroji analýzy podnikatelského prostředí, podnikatelským záměrem, podnikatelským plánem a jeho dílčími částmi. Vymezuje roli vlastníka, jeho kompetence a odpovědnost. Cvičení jsou orientována na praktickou průpravu tvorby podnikatelského plánu.

The Moodle learning management system (lms.vsb.cz) is used for communication beyond the presently realized concentration, through which it is possible to communicate not only between the teacher and the students, but also between the students.

Other requirements

Semester work: - business environment research in selected business sector in the raw materials industry, - analysis of the causes of the success of the selected business personality.

Subject syllabus:

1. The importance of business for the development of economy and society, success in business. 2. Historical importance of business activity, specifics of business in raw materials industry. 3. Business opportunities and starting a business in the raw materials industry. 4. Legal aspects of starting a business, legal prerequisites for starting a business in the raw materials industry. 5. Business process as a cycle of capital, sources of business financing. 6. Management of business activities. 7. Regional aspects of business, sources of information for entrepreneurs. 8. Basic structure of business plan. The meaning of the implementation summary. 9. Company and project description. Market research and analysis tools. 10. Problems of technology selection, production plan. Development, innovation. 11. Personal and spatial security. Goals and marketing strategies. 12. Use of financial analysis and calculation of return on investment in business plan. 13. Compilation of project implementation schedule. Study of technical and economic feasibility of the project. 14. Identification of success factors, risk minimization measures, business plan annexes.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: Elaboration of a semester project on a selected topic. Successful completion of the course is the acquisition of 26-50 points from the project. Another requirement is the successful implementation of the test from the subject matter, namely obtaining 25-50 points.
