Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Goal is to familiarize students with the principles of cybernetics and its applications in the processes of raw material industry. Students will learn the basic principles of automatic control and use of controllers, learn about the structure control systems and software. Furthermore, familiar with means for automatic control and acquire knowledge of methods of obtaining information from the process.

Summary

This subject provides basis knowledge of technical cybernetics and it's application in the area of raw materials industry. Students can study basic principles of automatic control systems, the structure of computers and its software. Next they meet instruments for automatic control. Subject provides methods of information collecting from technologic process, principles of measurement circuit construction, equipment for information transmitting, and technological process operating.

Subject syllabus:

Automation, basic concepts. Management, control and logic diagrams. Control and identification of dynamic properties of RO elements. The structure of the computer base. Hardware and software components, digital programmable PLC. Operating Systems, Windows application software. Models and modeling, identification, deterministic models. Measurement of technological parameters, testing and measurement, standards and labels. SCADA systems, In-Touch, Citect, application of SCADA systems Monitoring and information systems. Information systems - the basic structures and concepts, CIM - computer integrated manufacturing. The use of optimization in industry, methods of operations research - CPM. Robotics and its applications, industrial robots. Artificial intelligence - the basic problem and methods.
