Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The objective of subject is development of basic questions and facilitys in the area of modelling of reality with a view to proposal and creating of database systems (DBS). Students will informed about history of data processing, basic terminology in the area of databases, data types, particular database models and ways of theirs creation. In practical part students will informed about proposal and physical realization of database in environment of software Microsoft Access. At the close students create semestral project intent on proposal and realization of database.

Modelování reality. Informační systém. Datové typy. Databázový systém(DBS). SŘBD a jeho funkce. Tři úrovně struktury DBS. Výhody databázové technologie. Architektura DBS. Interní formy uložení dat. Konceptuální schéma. ERA diagram. Vztahy mezi entitami. Jiné modely k.s. Funkční analýza. Diagram toku dat. Síťový datový model, síťové DBS. Hierarchický datový model, hierarchické DBS. Relační datový model, relační DBS a jeho podmínky. Klíče a integrita relačních DBS. Funkční závislosti. Normalizace relačních tabulek. Dotazování nad relační DB. SQL, QBE. Ochrana DBS. Řízení paralelních procesů v databázích. Přístup k výstavbě DBS a IS.
