Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Student demonstrates knowledge and understanding of:
• basic concepts and structures in business environments in the raw material industry,
• the basics of strategic management, management tools and business planning,
• entities and business environment relationships in various areas of the raw material industry.
Student can:
• implement, solve and elaborate a research of the business environment in the selected sector of enterprise in the raw material industry.
Student is able to:
• analyze, characterize and orientate in the business environment in the field of raw materials, their processing and markets,
• create, characterize and evaluate the business plan for raw materials.

Summary
The course presents the specifics of business in the raw material industry with a focus on building materials, ores, energy and industrial raw materials. The area of precious metals and stones and modern technological materials and their markets is attractive. The subject introduces into new perspectives knowledge of management, marketing, business economics and law in the context of contemporary realities in the Czech Republic, the EU and the world. Students will practice to carry out business environment research in selected business sector in the raw materials industry.

The Moodle learning management system (lms.vsb.cz) is used for communication beyond the presently realized concentration, through which it is possible to communicate not only between the teacher and the students, but also between the students.
