Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Student demonstrates knowledge and understanding of: - basic theoretical and legislative knowledge of business, - basic concepts, forms, functions and meanings of business and strategic planning, - the structure and particulars of the business plan as the primary strategic plan of the enterprise, - basic management methods and tools of strategic and project management, - basic orientation in raw material markets. Student can: - interpret the nature, roles and functions of entrepreneurship, - to evaluate the well-known state of practice, to appreciate the main factors of change in the current state and knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship - grasp and understand the essence of the owner, economic decision-making, management and management of business processes, - Apply basic management tools - realize, solve and elaborate business plan in chosen area of ​​business with relation to raw material resources. Student is able to: - create a vision, mission and business goals, - analyze, characterize and orientate in the business environment of the Czech Republic, - create, compile into real form and defend a concrete business plan for a fictitious company (semestral work).

Summary

The course presents the issues and basic principles of business in general, with subsequent concretization on markets and business with raw material resources. It introduces the elements of the business environment, the legislative framework of business, tools for analyzing the business environment, the business plan, the business plan and its parts. It defines the role of the owner, his competencies and responsibilities. Exercises are focused on practical training in creating a business plan.

Semester work: business environment research in selected business sector in the raw materials industry.

Subject syllabus:

1. Introduction to the subject. 2. Strategic management and market research. 3. Managerial methods, tools and systems. 4. Raw materials industry, minerals and their processes. 5. Entrepreneurial opportunities and start-up of business in the raw material industry. 6. Legal prerequisites for business in the raw materials industry. 7. Business plan for the raw materials industry. 8. Specifics of business in mining and processing of minerals. 9. Specifics of business in the field of production based on minerals. 10. Specifics of business in the field of renewable sources (RES, recycling). 11. Specifics of business in the field of modern technological raw materials. 12. The specifics of business in the field of precious metals and stones (and commodities). 13. Conclucion and evaluation of semester work.
