Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The student will acquire theoretical knowledge about basic procedures and methods of processing statistical files and apply them in the analysis of statistical data in the raw materials industry.

Summary
After completing the course, students will be able to describe and analyze univariate statistical sets, data from sample surveys, perform regression and correlation analysis, and time series analysis. The analyses are performed on data on minerals and mining companies.

1. Basic statistical concepts, classification of economic activities CZ-NACE
2. Methods of obtaining statistical data, statistical surveys
3. Elementary processing of statistical data - frequency distribution
4. Statistical graphs
5. Quantiles, elementary processing of technical and production indicators of a mining enterprise
6. Measures of position: application to wages in a mining enterprise
7. Measures of variability: application to wages in a mining enterprise
8. Point and interval estimates: estimates of ratio indicators of a mining enterprise
9. Testing of statistical hypotheses: testing ratio indicators of a mining enterprise
10. Regression analysis: application to analysis of costs of a mining enterprise
11. Correlation analysis: application to analysis of costs of a mining enterprise
12. Time series: basic characteristics of time series
13. Time series models, trend functions, analysis of the price trend of a selected commodity
