Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the subject is to clarify the application potential of augmented and virtual reality across the entire spectrum of human activities and to summarize their possibilities in various fields. Students will learn to define the basic concepts associated with these technologies and to classify different systems for creating their content. In the practical part of the course, students will be able to plan and practice developing their own applications that use augmented and virtual reality. Within this subject, students will identify practical and useful applications of these technologies, describe their role as a human/machine interface and apply their knowledge to new trends in Industry 4.0. Furthermore, they will learn to evaluate the effectiveness of these technologies in different contexts and present their results.

Summary

After completing the course, students will be able to create a simple application using augmented reality that connects the real and virtual worlds. At the same time, they will acquire the skill to use photogrammetry to convert objects from the real world into 3D models and will be able to integrate these models into applications created in virtual reality, thus enriching the user experience and expanding the functionality of their projects.
