Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Prerequisites and co-requisites Basic knowledge of design and use of computer technology in relation to process control in raw materials industry. Describe and derive background for design, selection of computer technology. Competence in the operation of computer technology, the ability to evaluate proposals for purchase, the replacement of computer technology in leading functions.

Summary
Learning outcomes of the course unit The course is focused on basic knowledge of numerical techniques for students of economics with a focus on raw materials industry. Based on the knowledge of computer technology, it further develops knowledge of the environment and the connection of computer peripherals. To better understand computer technology, students are introduced to the basics of logic circuits, logical algebra. In the following it gradually introduces individual parts of personal computer, peripherals, input of output device. Securing IT in harsh environments, power backup and system backup.

2. Today's computer and its surroundings, overview
3. Hardware components I (bus, CPU)
4. Hardware components II (motherboards, power supplies, computer memories)
5. Hardware components III (hard disks, removable disks, optical memories, tapes, etc.)
6. Peripheral devices I (computer interfaces: serial, parallel, graphic)
7. Peripherals II (input)

9. Capture, representation and processing of sound and image
