Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The student will be able to describe and explain the process of acquiring mineral deposits in the Czech Republic. The student will understand the conclusions of geological research. The student will be able to describe and explain the process of determining the mining area and permitting mining activities. The student knows the necessary legislative framework.

Summary
The course is focused on the complex process of acquiring mineral deposits in the Czech Republic. Students will gradually get acquainted with the basic structure of the process of mastering the mineral deposit, which in the initial phase consists in conducting and evaluating a geological survey, and which is completed by determining the mining area (DP) and permitting mining activities or ČPHZ. All teaching respects the relevant legislative framework and is closely linked to practice.

Subject syllabus:
1. Definition of basic terms, overview of basic legislation, geological work, mining activities and activities performed in a mining manner
2. Minerals, mineral deposits, exclusive deposits, protected deposit area
3. Geological survey, exploration area, design, implementation and evaluation of GP, GP records
4. Calculation of stocks - basic structure, legislation and approval procedure
5. Mathematical models of inventory calculation processing
6. State Geological Survey and State Mining Administration
7. Geological survey in the Czech Republic - history and present
8. Trends in geological survey in the world
9. International methods of evaluation of resources and stocks - JORC, PERC
10. Records and balance of reserves and sources of minerals
11. Basic measuring and geological documentation
12. Prior consent to the determination of DP and determination of DP
13. POPD and mining activity permit, plan for the use of the deposit and permission to operate in a mining manner
