Summary

The subject presents management as one of the most important human activities. Lectures are divided into two parts. Initially, the students become familiar with the term management that is further analysed in wider context. Management is seen from ethical as well as social responsibility viewpoint of the manager. The latter part of the course is devoted to introduction of managerial functions classification, focusing on sequence and parallel functions.

Subject syllabus:

1. Definování základních pojmů managementu, charakteristika manažerské práce, manažerské vlastnosti, dovednosti. Vymezení pojmů - firemní etika a firemní kultura. Systémový přístup k managemetnu 2. Stručný historický vývoj managementu. Charakteristika a představitelé jednotlivých manažerských směrů. 3. Manažeská funkce plánování: definice, charakteristika jednotlivých typů plánů, postup plánování. Management podle cílů (MBO). 4. Strategické plánování a řízení. Definice pojmů firemní vize a poslání firmy, proces strategického plánování, vybrané druhy strategických analýz (SWOT analýza, Porterův model, analýza PEST), základní typy strategií a strategické alternativy. 5. Manařeská funkce rozhodování: definice, riziko, časový rozklad rozhodovacího procesu, rozhodování ve skupině, rozhodovací metody. 6. Manažeská funkce organizování: definice, postup organizování, základní typy organizačních struktur – výhody x nevýhody, centralizace a decentralizace řízení, rozpětí řízení, koordinace, organizačně právní formy podniku. 7. Manažeská funkce personalistika: definice, základní činnosti personálních útvarů (např. výběr, hodnocení odměňování pracovníků). 8. Manažeská funkce vedení: definice, základní vlivy na výkon pracovníka, motivace a motivační teorie, motivační faktory, význam pracovních skupin a faktory ovlivňujících jejich výkonost a efektivitu, vývojové fázé týmu. 9. Manažeská funkce kontrola:definice, klasifikace kontrolních procesů, doporučení k provádění kontrolní činnosti, tendence rozvoje kontrolní činnosti.
