Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The subject Industrial Logistics I familiarizes with historical development, basic terms, principles and goals of logistics. It clarifies the mission of logistics, focuses on orientation in various specific areas of logistics and calculations of basic logistic quantities.

In the field of Industrial Logistics I, the students are acquainted with product and technology design, localization of logistics problems, formulation of logistics requirements in pre-production preparation and planning and management in supply, production and distribution logistics. Attention is also paid to technical means of logistics and to overview and provisions of legal norms that affect logistics.

1. Logistics: origin and historical development, basic terms of logistics.
2. Logistics information system. Cycle of customer order. Progressive system of order transaction. Telemarketing. EDI, e-mail, internet. Customer support.
3. Theory of stock - meaning, classification.
4. Stock logistic, stock control.
5. Stuff flow control. Disconnection point. Conception of Total Quality Management.
6. Transport logistics, characterization of basic type of transport.
7. Logistics of transport technology.
8. Transit, custom and insurance services in transport logistics.
9. Passive and active components of logistics.
10. Storage, type of stocking, classification of stores.
11. Factors influencing areas and number of stores. Analysis of store lay-out.
12. Material handling, barcodes.
13. Packaging – function of packaging, influence of packaging into costs and customer support.
14. Purchasing – significance in logistics chain.
15. Production logistics.
