Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students in the first place demonstrating the current interpretation of the information system, basic characteristics and requirements to be met. Furthermore, the framework will focus on IS architectures and methodologies used for their development.

Summary

The course provides an overview of the different types of methodologies, methods, techniques and tools used for designing information systems, also introduces the basic concept of architecture as a comprehensive, modular, variable structure of an information system. Particular attention is paid to factors influencing their design

Subject syllabus:

1.Concept of an information system, characteristic of present IS, basic features and requirements that must be met by applying the principle of three architectures. 2.Lifecycle of information system, types. 3.Principles of analysis and design of information systems. 4.The relationship between methodology, methods, techniques and tools to develop information system, an overview of currently used methods. 5.An example of projection information system life cycle to MDIS methodology . 6.Structured and object-oriented approach to the analysis and design information systems. 7.An overview of structured methods. 8.An overview of object-oriented methods. 9.Basic parameters that must satisfy the general architecture of the IS, factors affecting its design, the architecture layer. 10.Global architecture.of IS. 11.Partial architecture - data, functional, procedural, technical, software, organizational, personnel. 12.Layers of architecture. 13.Control systems architecture. 14.Restriction and conditions for the development of information system.
