Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic application software used in biology, environmental and geoscience disciplines. The course focuses on the software that students will use in future studies, especially in information systems related subjects in landscape modeling and landscape management. In this course, students will gain knowledge of the control package ESRI ArcGIS, Canoco, Juice, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD and others. Also included is an introduction to database systems and data formats (raster and vector data), which in these disciplines are used.

Summary

Knowledge: Students have a basic overview of data processing, use of databases and software tools from the point of view of the user and worker in brownfield revitalisation. Skills: The student can store data in databases and then present them, can work with raster and vector graphics, has basic skills in work with statistical programs in environmentalism. Has an overview of the possibilities of ESRI, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and Microsoft Project for project management.
