Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students demonstrate the knowledge of graphical and computational methods for evaluating raw materials and evaluating the efficiency of technological operations, including the application of basic statistical methods. They are able to apply basic procedures of mathematical statistics to solve practical problems of processing raw materials.

Summary

Posluchači jsou seznámeni s problematikou hodnocení vlastností nerostných surovin a odpadů a hodnocení úpravnických technologií z hlediska jejich účinnosti. Předmět se zabývá rovněž aplikací základních pravděpodobnostních a statistických metod v oblasti úpravy užitkových surovin a plánování a vyhodnocování experimentálních prací. Posluchači jsou schopni hodnotit a predikovat výsledky technologických procesů a aplikovat základní statistické metody v této oblasti.

Subject syllabus:

1. Sampling of utility raw materials, basic concepts 2. Evaluation of the treatability of utility raw materials, treatability curves 3. Evaluation of the granulometric composition of mineral raw materials, grain size curves. 4. Calculation of yields of separation process products. 5. Evaluation of the efficiency of separation processes by the method of yields. 6. Evaluation of the efficiency of separation processes using the partition curve method 7. Other methods for evaluating the efficiency of separation processes 8. Basic statistical methods and their application in the evaluation of technological processes, basic concepts. 9. Tests on probability distribution parameters and their applications. 10.Goodness-of-fit tests and their applications. 11.Basics of regression and correlation analysis and their applications 12.Analysis of variance and its applications. 13.Basic methods for planning experiments, evaluation of experimental works.

Mandatory attendence participation: Compulsory participation in the exercise. The course is completed with an oral and written examination, part of the exam will be discussion of the data brought by the student and the possibilities of their analysis.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: Compensation for the mandatory participation in the ISP will submission of a seminar work. The topic of the seminar work will be chosen following a consultation with the student.
