Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The goal is to acquire the physico-chemical processes that are used for treatment of municipal and industrial waste water and the treatment of drinking water. Specifically, in the subject discussed in detail and experimented fundamental physico-chemical processes in the technology of water, flotation, coagulation and flocculation, adsorption and ion exchange. Students are familiar with the principles of the physico-chemical processes, physical, chemical and electrochemical aspects of the individual processes, the mechanisms involved in the removal of pollutants from water by the application of physical-chemical processes and types of equipment. On the theoretical basis for follow practical exercises in the laboratory. Within individual laboratory exercises, students will evaluate the effectiveness of the use of flotation, coagulation, flocculation, adsorption and ion exchange in the treatment of municipal and industrial water, as well as in the treatment of drinking water.
