Cílem předmětu je uvést studenty do disciplíny zabývající se problematikou hospodaření s odpady. Získané vědomosti studenti aplikují při řešení konkrétního problému technické praxe.
Teaching methods
Summary
This subject acquaints students with valid legislative in waste management
section. It is focus on kind of wastes from industry and the other production
and methods of waste disposal, waste treatment and waste usage.

Subject syllabus:
1. Basics of waste economy (reasons of formation, sources and occurrence of
waste, waste disposal).
2. Municipal refuse.
3. Waste from the chemical and metallic industries.
4. Waste from the leather manufacturing and textile industry, from glass
plants and the building industry.
5. Scrap from mechanical and power engineering. Waste water treatment sludge.
6. Waste from extraction, transport, processing and utilization of oil.
7. Radioactive and sanitary waste.
8. Residues from agriculture and forestry. Food-processing industry waste.
9. Dumping.
10. Reclamation.
11. Contamination and decontamination of soil.
12. Biological disposal of waste.
13. Thermal disposal of waste.
14. Physical and chemical methods of waste disposal.
15. New directions in waste economy (low-waste and non-waste technologies, potential prevention of waste formation).
