Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students are able to sort information sources, classify information, and know the available sources of information in order to work with bibliographic records. Student knows the basics of writing and communicating research, including referring to sources. Stundets are supported in writing their final theses.

Summary

The aim of the course is to offer students an opportunity to obtain the essential knowledge to be able to work with traditional documents, information sources and library services or other information workplaces, including being capable of independent work with electronic resources. To equip students with theoretical as well as practical fundamentals of information literacy, which they will find useful during their university studies, professional practice and during their long-life education. The course supports students in writing their final theses.
