Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students are able to sort information sources, classify information, and know the available sources of information in order to work with bibliographic records. Student knows the basics of writing and communicating research, including referring to sources. Stundets are supported in writing their final theses.

Summary

On completion of the course, students will be able to navigate traditional documents, information sources and library services, as well as other information institutions. They will acquire the skills necessary to work independently with electronic resources and develop both the theoretical and practical foundations of information literacy. The course will also support students in writing their final dissertation.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: Handing-in 10 pages of BA thesis, including the list of references. Plus, the mandatory participation in the course may be compensated for by a seminar paper (3000 words). The topic of the seminar paper will be chosen following a consultation with the student.
