Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The student who completes the course should be able:
- to characterise, discuss and process information about construction and operation of hydrotechnical works of various types and functions and to use the knowledge in practice,
- prepare his/her own concept of a small water reservoir,
- to defend his/her own proposal of a small water reservoir.

Summary
This subject deal with basic terms, documents for design / planning,
functional
and structural layout of water management buildings (reservoirs – dams,
diversion buildings – weirs, step weirs, water ways, water energy
exploitation).

The subject is dealing with basic ideas, data for projection, functional and constructional solution of the hydraulic engineering ( reservoirs – dams, diversion constructions - weirs and riverbed drops, water roads and water energy utilization ).
