The target of the subject is acquainting of students with fundamentals of environmental law in the Czech Republic.

Summary
Subject treats of Czech environmental law. Preamble is devoted to Czech environmental state administration. Main attention is focused on legal regulations in the sphere of air protection, water protection, soil protection, and legal form in the sphere of natural and country-side protection, forest-land resources protection, waste management, environmental impact assessment, mineral raw material exploitation, working environment management (focused on human health management) and noise and vibration protection.

1. Constitutional Foundations of Environmental Protection (Constitution of the Czech Republic, Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, and their relation to environmental protection)
2. General Legal Framework of Environmental Protection (Act No. 17/1992 Coll., on the Environment, access to information, Aarhus Convention, public participation)
3. International and European Context of Environmental Protection (Implementation of EU law, international conventions and cooperation, Natura 2000 – Sites of Community Importance and Special Protection Areas)
4. Nature and Landscape Protection (Nature protection authorities, instruments, responsibilities, public and municipal participation, property rights restrictions, obligations of investors)
5. Air Protection (Legal framework, emission limits, instruments for pollution reduction)
6. Water Protection (Care for water resources, legal regulation of surface and groundwater)
7. Waste Management and Packaging (Legal regulation of waste and packaging materials)
8. Soil and Mineral Resources Protection (Agricultural and forest land protection, use of mineral resources)
9. Protection Against Noise and Vibrations (Legal instruments to prevent harmful environmental impacts)
