Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The objective of the course is to acquaint students with modern trends aimed at increasing the proportion of secondary raw materials reintroduced into the Czech Republic’s economy relative to the overall consumption of primary raw materials. The concept focuses on increasing the share of secondary resources (recoverable waste materials) as substitutes for non-renewable raw materials, which represents a fundamental instrument for ensuring long-term sustainable production.

Summary

The course covers the fundamental principles that define the circular economy, such as: closing material flows into functional and continuous cycles in which materials do not lose their value; drawing energy from renewable and sustainable sources; and designing products and services that do not generate negative impacts on natural ecosystems or human resources. It further addresses modern trends aimed at increasing the proportion of secondary raw materials reintroduced into the Czech Republic’s economy. The course also examines the possibilities of using secondary raw materials as substitutes for non-renewable resources, which represent a crucial instrument for ensuring long-term sustainable production.
