Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The student who completes the course should be able: - to apply and define information relating to functions and construction of sewage systems and wastewater treatment plants as well as associated facilities and installations, - to prepare, defend and describe a simple project documentation for sewage systems and to determine basic parameters and dimensions of the sewage system, - to evaluate, solve and interpret issues relating to the design of sewage systems.

Summary

The course deals with the issue of wastewater removal from urbanized units with an emphasis on: construction-technological problems of sewer network construction, legislative documents, hydrological bases for sewer network design, hydraulic calculations for unified and separated sewer system, sewer network materials, sewerage and WWTP objects.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Beginning with the first seminar until the six seminar, students are required to prove their knowledge in written tests. Beginning with the seventh seminar until the fourteenth seminar, fulfilment of tasks are checked - the tasks relate to preparation of a semestral project named “Proposal of sewerage of city district or village up to 3000 PE”. If the student does not fulfill the set tasks regularly, he/she will not be able to prepare the project.
