Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the water course is to introduce students to the principles and tools for climate change adaptation and mitigation in the water sector. It also includes new opportunities in stormwater management, drinking water conservation and recycling. The focus is on sustainable water management, drought and flood prevention, increasing landscape retention capacity and promoting nature-friendly measures.

Summary
Within the course, students are introduced to new knowledge in the field of rainwater management, both in the city and outside it. Furthermore, with the possibilities of water recycling and its savings, the development of legislation in this area. During the exercises, students are acquainted with real examples of the implementation of these measures, calculates the rainwater tank and prepares seminar papers.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
Active participation in seminars, fulfillment of assigned partial tasks, successful completion credit test. The course is completed by a combined exam.

1. Adaptation and mitigation measures, adaptation strategy
2. Blue Green Infrastructure (MZI)
3. Water management, other permits and water authority measures
4. Anthropogenic impacts on the hydrosphere, impacts and risks from climate change
5. Green roof and façade
6. Information systems in water management, water saving devices/measures
7. Stormwater management, in urbanised environments
8. Rainwater tanks (size and material calculation), Infiltration (rainwater harvesting devices)
9. Rainwater use and quality (composition)
10. Rainwater legislation
11. Drought, floods and flood protection (interconnecting water supply systems, preparation and implementation of measures to mitigate the negative impacts of drought and water scarcity)
12. Water colour classification (grey, yellow, brown, black, and white water), water footprint and water audit
13. Risk analysis, swot analysis, circular economy
