Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is a practical introduction to the main domestic tree species, domesticated and most widespread introduced species, knowledge of species and their characteristics which are relevant for use in the reconstruction of areas in industrial countries; an emphasis on growth, and the growing ecological characteristics and the resulting possibilities.

Summary

Determination of trees, familiarity with their ecological characteristics, growth characteristics, all focusing on botanical species commonly found in nature and plantations of Central Europe. That is, for woody plants that are able to vegetate under normal climatic conditions in our territory.

Ability Determination of specific trees by live twigs (10 samples Czech and Latin, from the total list of species). Knowledge of important properties of specific tree species.

Subject syllabus:

1. The concept of woody plants, the importance of woody plants for humans, their function in the landscape. 2. Distribution of woody plants in terms of use 3. Special dendrology - deciduous trees domestic and domesticated 4. Dendrology special - deciduous introduced trees 5. Dendrology special - deciduous shrubs 6. Special dendrology - coniferous trees and shrubs 1 7. Special dendrology - coniferous trees and shrubs 2 8. Protection of woody plants in settlements 9. Protection of woody plants in the landscape 10. Use of specific tree species in replacement stands - in air pollution areas 11. Use of specific tree species in reclamation 12. Use of specific tree species in the urban environment - in industrial buildings 13. Use of woody plants in landscape creation - special stands

Mandatory attendence participation: Determination of tree species, properties of domestic and introduced tree species.

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: Compensation for mandatory participation in the ISP will be handled in the form of individual professional consultations. Credit is awarded on the basis of a completed semester project. The course is completed by written and oral examination.
