Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The main goal of the course will be to acquaint students in a global way with the issue of the impact of human activities on the environment, and at the same time in what ways some problems can grow on a global scale. Completion of this course is mainly aimed at mastering the idea of ​​"thinking globally, but being able to act locally".

Summary

The course deals with an overview of current global problems that are focused on the environment. This course will focus primarily on anthropogenic / industrial sources of pollution and the impacts of human activity on key ecosystems on a global scale. This course deals with the cross-section of individual industries and their impact on the environment on a local and global scale. The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issue of environmental damage, and also to acquaint them with the possibilities of solutions in the form of sustainable and so-called "clean" technologies in solving the impact of current industrial production on the environment.

Subject syllabus:

1. Introduction to the problems of globalization, the environment and new strategies for humans 2. Industrial activities and environmental impact, anthropogenic pollution 3. Society and landscape - space intrusion and habitat destruction (the landscape change, draining the landscape, expanding infrastructures) 4. Landscape ecology and disturbance of biodiversity 5. Eutrophication as a global problem, eutrophication of water, land eutrophication, eutrophication in the future 6. Impacts of industry on the Global Atmosphere - Climate Change and Ozone Depletion (effects of global warming climate changes and hydrology, energy systems and stratospheric ozone, carbon dioxide reduction, acid rain and radioactive fallout) 7. Industrial society and chemical pollution
