Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Knowledge rendered at the end of the course: The Cleaner Production project management in the enterprise, monitoring and optimization of material and energy flows, calculation of return on the project. Students will become familiar with the application of prevention strategies and non-production manufacturing enterprises, optimizing material and energy flows, reducing environmental impacts and their economic implications. Skills rendered at the end of the course: Project management, design material balance, leading brainstorming, economic evaluation of alternative solutions.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
During the semester there will be discussions about topics being taught in lectures, in exercises there will be control in the form of tests and two semester projects.

Subject syllabus:
1. History Cleaner Production (CP) in the world and us.
2. Statutory obligations for Cleaner Production - Waste Act, the Act on Integrated Prevention, National Cleaner Production Program, the State Environmental Policy.
3. Progress with CP in an industrial company - a preliminary assessment (overall analysis of inputs and outputs).
4. The plan and organization of the securities in the company - building a team, project management.
5. Analysis of substance and energy flows in the selected section - procedures, methods, sources of information.
6. Designing possible solutions - brainstorming.
7. Assessment options (feasibility study) - technical, environmental and economic evaluation.
8. Implementation options - the conditions, procedures.
9. Evaluation of results after the project implementation, feedback, maintaining the project results.
10. Use of cleaner production on a regional scale - urban projects, etc. Ecoprofit.
11. Application of CP in the management of non-manufacturing organizations - hotels, schools, hospitals.
12. Application of CP in the management of the city / region.
13. The economic context of cleaner production - costs and revenues, environmental accounting, the use of EMS.
14. UNEP, UNIDO and their role in the development and dissemination of CP.
