Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The course introduces the basics of soil science as part of ecosystems and as environmental components. Teaching follows the geological objects (Mineralogy and Petrography, Geology) and creates a foundation for the study of soil protection. as a basis understanding of the processes in soils are discussed soil properties affecting behavior of contaminants in soils, physical properties of soils, soil chemistry, sorption properties of soils, foundations hydropedology. Briefly discussed the classification of soils CR.

Summary

The course contains basic information on pedology (soil science). Soil is explained as a part of ecosystems and as a component of environment. The study of the course is based on the basic courses of Mineralogy and Petrography, and Geology. It prepares for study of Soil Protection. The properties of soils are studied as a base for understanding of soil processes (physical properties of soils, chemical properties of soils, sorption properties of soils, basics of hydropedology). The soil classification is based on international classification FAO - UNESCO.
