After completion of the „Fundamentals of biology and ecology“ students will understand the origin of life on Earth, the basic units of life – cells, evolution of species and the diversity of life, ecology of communities, dynamic characteristics of ecosystems and global issues of the environment.

After completion of the „Fundamentals of biology and ecology“ students will understand the origin of life on Earth, the basic units of life – cells, evolution of species and the diversity of life, ecology of communities, dynamic characteristics of ecosystems and global issues of the environment.

Subject syllabus:

Co je život? 1. Buněčná teorie. Stavba prokaryotické a eukaryotické buňky. 2. Energie a život buněk (tok energie, dýchání, fotosyntéza). 3. Genetika (stavba chromozómů, struktura DNA, RNA, genetické aspekty mitózy a meiózy, mutační změny genotypu). 4. Diverzita na naší planetě (viry, bakterie, houby, živočichové, rostliny). 5. Vznik živých soustav a jejich evoluce. Základy obecné ekologie 6. Vztahy mezi organismem a prostředím (nika, ekologická valence, ekologické optimum). 7. Podmínky prostředí a zdroje (teplota, pH, vlhkost, voda, světlo, prostor...). 8. Druh (adaptace, specializace, genetický a fenotypický polymorfismus, fitness, jedinec). 9. Populace (denzita, distribuce, věk, mortalita, natalita, populační růst a regulace, migrace a disperze organismů, vnitrodruhová a mezidruhová konkurence, predace, parazitismus a mutualismus). 10. Společenstva (uspořádání společenstev v prostoru, struktura společenstva v čase – sukcese, stabilita, pružnost a rezistence společenstva). 11. Ekosystémy (biosféra, tok energie a produktivita ekosystémů, trofická struktura, biochemické cykly, biomy). Životní prostředí člověka 12. Charakteristika životního prostředí člověka 13. Znečištění atmosféry, narušení klimatu (narušení ozónové vrstvy, skleníkový efekt, kyselé deště, prach). 14. Znečištění pedosféry (půdní eroze, vyčerpání a degradace půdy, kácení tropických pralesů, zamoření těžkými kovy, ropou, pesticidy atd.). 15. Znečištění sladkých vod a oceánů (eutrofizace, průmyslový odpad, ropa, DDT atd.).
