Summary
The student will get basic overview in the field of health and safety at work, incl. legislation. The individual topics discussed are, for example, the basic equipment of workplaces in terms of work hygiene, physical factors of work. environment, chemical factors working. environment, physical and mental burden and categorization of work.

Subject syllabus:
1. Integration of occupational health and safety problematic into company managerial system, relation to QMS and EMS, legislation in force
2. Hygienic requirements on buildings, workplace basic sanitary equipment requirements
3. Ventilation and heating, workplace microclimate
4. Physical load, psychical load.
5. Workplace limits – definitions
6. Dust – sources, limits, measuring methods
7. Chemical pollutants - sources, limits, measuring methods, health impact, biological exposure tests
8. Biological pollutants
9. Physical pollution (noise, vibrations - sources, limits, measuring methods)
10. Ionisation radiation. Non-ionisation radiation and electro-magnetic rays
11. Lightning – natural, artificial, combined
12. Workload classification and risk, occupational diseases
13. State control and administration of occupational health and safety
