Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Knowledge of waste management in terms of their removal and their efficient material and energy recovery. Ability to distinguish different approaches, to estimate and find best solutions for a specific problem of waste management. Students will be able to obtain information for work experience, demonstrate a general overview and evaluate the problem. Compare different approaches and the practical site of them. Being able to produce results and solve the task independently.
Demonstrate ability to communicate (active both writing and speaking), manage technical terminology.

Summary
The course provides students with basic information on the issue of waste
economy and waste disposal. The students are acquainted with legal regulations
concerning waste economy, prevention of waste formation, its effective
material and power-producing utilization. Students are also informed about the
following: the most important methods of disposal of the individual types of
industrial waste and municipal refuse, individual technological procedures,
such as collection, sorting and purchase of waste.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
During the exercises there will be a test to control the acquired knowledge, students will present their project, which is thematically focused on issues lectured. During lectures students and teachers will discuss diverse topics. At the end of semester written and oral exam.

3. Establishment and characterization of waste from metallurgical plants,
4. Establishment and characterization of waste from nuclear and non nuclear energy,
5. Establishment and characterization of municipal waste
6. Establishment and characterization of waste from food industries, waste from agriculture,
7. Establishment and characterization of waste from glass and ceramic industries, scrap wood and paper industry, waste from textile and leather industry,
8. Establishment and characterization of waste from medical facilities
9. Establishment and characterization of waste from construction
