Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The primary objective of this course is to study inputs of pollutants into the environment, their transport, interaction, research methods and their monitoring. Student is able to discuss problems of chemical pollution of the environment and monitoring of pollutants. Knowledge rendered upon completion of the course: They correspond to the themes of which is composed Curriculum: inputs of pollutants into the individual components of the environment, transport, environment and its influence, transformation. Skills rendered upon completion of the course: They are able to present the results of individual work and learn the basics of search information sources and their processing in the form of research. Activating methods (simulation, situational, staging methods, drama, role playing, manager game) develops the student's ability to lead a debate on the topic.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Students individually work on semestral work in the range of 5-7 pages (format A4), which is focused on the subject matter. The list of themes is updated every year so that each student has his / her own topic (eg 1. Global Monitoring for Water and Environment (GEMStat), 2. Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES), 3. Environmental Monitoring System of the Population in relation to the Environment, 4. Environmental Information Sharing System (SEIS), etc.). As part of the case study, students' competences are reflected in the continuous elaboration of the final report, which deals with individual sources of pollution, especially soil, water and air, with the interest site being formed by selected territory.
