The target of the subject is acquainting of students with impact of common traffic systems on the environment.

Summary

Transportation affects on environmental quality very badly. Subject is focused on common traffic systems, which are using in Czech Republic. Students are taking up with energetic and economic aspects of individual traffic systems and fundamentals of traffic constructions. Students are also taking up with environmental impact on individual traffic systems. Main attention is focused on environmental effect of automobile transporation.

Subject syllabus:

1. Role of transport in the Czech Republic and in Europe. Types of transport, their tasks and cooperation. Types of transport and their energy efficiency, economic point of view in transport. 2. Road transport (development of transport net in the Czech Republic, development of road net in the Czech Republic). 3. Construction of road net (types of roadways, drainage of roads and motorways, roadsides, additional lanes, bridges, tunnels, ecoducts). Car parks, stops and breakdown areas. 4. Railway transport (development of railway net, beginnings of railway operation on territory of the Czech Republic).
