Summary

The course deepens students' knowledge of the matter, particularly in the field of waste processing technologies. Acquaints students with the detailed characteristics of selected types of waste, the problems with the construction of landfills, their operation and reclamation, inc. possibility of underground storage of waste. Characterizes biological waste treatment methods, inc. biological waste treatment options, as well as ways phys. - chemical waste treatment methods, particularly methods of stabilization of waste.

Subject syllabus:

1. The IPPC process in waste management 2. BAT, BREF, integrated permit 3. The EIA process in waste management 4. Integrated waste management systems – definition, principles for creating IWMS 5. Integrated waste management systems – tools (informational, organizational, economic, administrative, legislative, technological, voluntary 6. Collective management systems with electrical device 7. Management of selected types of waste - radioactive waste, metallurgical waste, waste from mining activities, etc.
