Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Knowledge rendered after completion of the course: Students will focus on waste legislation, can characterize the selected types of waste, incl. methods of their treatment, recovery and disposal. Skills rendered after completion of the course: Students are able to apply the waste management legislation, can evaluate the different types of waste in terms of their further processing, respectively. utilization.

Teaching methods

The course familiarizes students with detailed characteristics of selected wastes from consumption, specific constituents of solid municipal waste, and waste from selected production activities. The different types of waste are characterized in line with legislation on waste. Within the course students learn about the hierarchy of waste management, strategic goals of waste management of the Czech Republic, and priority waste flows based on the valid Czech legislation.
