Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Obtaining basic theoretical and practical knowledge about the waste characterization process. Orientation in the issue of sampling, evaluation and categorization of wastes. Orientation in related legislation.

Teaching methods

Lectures
Tutorials
Experimental work in labs

Summary

The subject acquaints with the evaluation of waste properties with regard to further handling of them, hazardous properties of wastes and their evaluation, conditions for the work of the authorized person and links to other legislation. Students will acquire legislative, administrative and physical procedures for evaluation of waste properties, sampling and evaluation methods. They can categorize waste according to a catalog, plan a sampling, enter and evaluate sample analysis and assess their properties.
