Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the subject Waste Management is a detailed identification of the formation of selected types of waste and their disposal technologies. Based on resources it will be possible to evaluate and determine suitability of material utilization for each type of waste, including application of their handling.

Summary

The course provides the students with basic training in the area of waste disposal in general. The course deals in detail with the issue of waste utilization and disposal. The individual lectures focus on thermal processing of waste, biological methods of waste disposal, composting, waste dumping and physical-chemical methods of waste disposal.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Students will include the information gained during a semester into their half-yearly presentations which will react to applications of the individual methods in the sphere of waste disposal. The subject is closed by granting a credit and by an examination.
