Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Field exercises in biology and ecology aims to acquaint students with organisms and habitats of selected ecosystems (forest, wetland, meadow, fields, pond, dam, river) and the specific examples, in the discharge of their duties, the acquainted with the functions of ecosystems and to understand that disruption of one component system can lead to the collapse of the entire system. In addition, students at specific locations acquainted with important natural features and the selected problems, whether it is issues of biodiversity.

Terrain work

Summary

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Active participation in the field. Processing and defending the assigned project.

E-learning

Other requirements

Protocols from field exercises, field notebook.

Prerequisities

Subject has no prerequisities.

Co-requisities

Subject has no co-requisities.

Subject syllabus:

Field Course is focused on practical experiences, biological and ecological research methods and evaluating the results. Field works are organized in post-industrial landscape, respectively in post-mining landscape. The practice is carried out by sub-field work from topics as organisms, populations and their environment, diversity and community structure and interaction between organisms.
