The aim of the Subject is to direct students to understand the soil development process, the determination of soil types. Students understand the chemical and physical processes in soils, they will be able to determine basic soil types edaphon, understand and analyze human influences on the soil ecosystem.

Soil science - its status and development tasks. Soil and its characteristics. Weathering processes. Pedogenic processes. Mineral phases in soils. Natural organic matter in soils. Physical properties of soils. Chemical properties of soils. Sorption properties of soils. Biological properties of soils. Edaphon. Humus, humification processes. Diagnostic soil horizons. Soil Classification - basic principles used systems. Horizontal and vertical zonality soils. Soil Sampling and field survey soil. Analyses of soils. Map data in soil science. Basics hydropedology. Soil water. Soil hydrolimity. Water regime in the unsaturated zone. Methods of measuring soil moisture. Methods for sampling soil water. Soil erosion. Erosion control measures.
