Summary

This course presents basic biological terms and facts. Students will understand the anatomy and functioning of organisms, their reproduction and evolution, the systematics of organisms and the process of adaptation of organisms to changing environmental conditions.

Subject syllabus:

1. Co je život? Společné rysy živých tvorů, řád a neuspořádanost, vlastnosti, které udržují populaci, evoluce přírodním výběrem, vědecké metody. 2. Atomy, molekuly a život. Atomy, částice, molekuly, chemické vlastnosti vody, sloučeniny obsahující uhlík 3. Základní jednotky života. Objev buňky a základní teorie vzniku buněk, dva hlavní typy buněk, společné funkce a struktura všech buněk, specializované funkce a struktury v buňkách. 4.Dynamika buněk.Buňky a základní energetický tok z vesmíru, chemické reakce a agens energetického toku v buňkách, metabolismus, buněčný transport. 5. Život pořebuje energii. ATP, glykolýza, fermentace, aerobní dýchání, kontrola metabolismu. 6.Absorpce slunečního světla a výstavba nutrientů. Fotosyntéza, barevné pigmenty, speciální typy fixace oxidu uhličitého. 7.Buněčné a životní cykly. Chromozómy, mitóza, meióza, reprodukce, evoluce. 8.DNA – vlákno života. Geny, typy DNA, naděje a problémy ve výzkumu rekombinace DNA. 9.Původ života a jeho diversita. 10.-11. Jednobuněčné organismy (bakterie a sinice), Producenti a dekompozitoři (řasy, rostliny, houby). 12. Živočichové (bezobratlí, obratlovci). 13. Genetický základ pro evoluci. Genetická variace, činitelé evoluce, co je druh, moderní syntéza a hlavní trendy v evoluci. 14. Populační model v prostoru a čase. Úroveň interakce, model rozšíření, omezení populačního růstu. 15. Biosféra. Život na souši, ve vodě, změny v biosféře.
