The target of the subject is acquainting of students with fundamentals of environmental law in the Czech Republic.

Summary
Subject treats of Czech environmental law. Preamble is devoted to Czech environmental state administration. Main attention is focused on legal regulations in the sphere of air protection, water protection, soil protection, and legal form in the sphere of natural and country-side protection, forest-land resources protection, waste management, environmental impact assessment, mineral raw material exploitation, working environment management (focused on human health management), noise and vibration protection, nuclear safety and cultural monuments maintenance.

Subject syllabus:
1. Constitutional Law No 1/1993 Coll. (Constitution of the CR) and Constitutional Law No 2/1993 Coll. (Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms) and their relation to the environmental protection.
2. Act 17/1992 Coll., on the environment, as amended.
3. Laws on waste management (Act No 541/2020 Coll., on wastes, as amended, Regulation of the Ministry of the Environment No 8/2021 Coll., on the Catalogue of waste etc.).
4. Laws on packaging – Act 477/2001 Coll., on packaging and other related laws.
5. Laws on air protection – Act 201/2012 Coll., on air protection, as amended.
6. Regulation 415/2012 Coll., on the permissible levels of pollution and its determination and on the execution of certain provisions of the act on air protection, as amended.
7. Laws on water management in the sense of Act 254/2001 Coll., on waters and on the amendments to some acts (water act), as amended and other related law.
8. Legal regime of the protection of the nature and landscape (Act 114/1992 Coll., on the protection of nature and landscape, as amended).
9. Protection of the agricultural land resources (Act 334/1992 Coll., on the protection of agricultural land resources). Protection of the forest land resources and forests (Act 289/1995 Coll., on forests).
10. Environmental protection related to the exploitation of mineral resources (Act 44/1988 Coll., Mining Act, as amended and other related law).
11. Protection of health against unfavourable effects of noise and vibrations (Government Decree 272/2011 Coll.).
12. Laws on the environmental impact assessment – Act 100/2001 Coll., on the environmental impact assessment and on the amendments to certain related laws, as amended.
13. Protection of public health (Act 258/2000 Coll., on the protection of public health and on the amendments to certain related laws, as amended).
