Subject syllabus:

1. Introduction – products and environment, resources exhaustion, waste generation. 2. Product life cycle – „from craddle to grave“ or „ from craddle to craddle“ 3. Product impact assessment through entire life cycle (LCA) - ISO 14040, ISO 14044 4. goal and scope definition, unit system and functional unit, system borders. Data quality requirements, sources of data, exploitation of databases. Inventory analysis. 5. LC impact assessment, categories, indicators, standardization. Interpretention of LCA 6. LCA reporting, independent report quality assessment. LCA results exploration 7. Product environmental impact mitigation based on LCA results. Relation of LCA to other product tools – ecodesign, environmental labels and declarations. 8. Ecodesign (DfE, DfS, D4S) – definition. Functional and environmental performance of product. Connection to LCA. 9. Ecodesign strategies 10. End-of-life product management 11. EU integrated product policy and its reflection in Czech legislation in force 12. Environmental labels and declarations – Czech National Programme 13. Green marketing, green purchasing for public sector 14. Product management as a part of EMS
