Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

During the semester, students' knowledge is verified by written tests, understanding of information is expressed by processing laboratory protocols. The course is completed by granting a credit and an exam. The exam consists of a written and an oral part.

E-learning

Other requirements

Active participation in practice and submission of all protocols from laboratory tasks. Successful processing of partial tasks related to laboratory practice, which are given in the semester. Successful completion of written tests (computational and theoretical) prior to commencing a practical task when the student proves that he / she is sufficiently prepared to solve the given practical task. The requirement is also to successfully pass the final credit test.

Particle size and gas bubbles under flotation conditions. 9. Chemical basis of flotation. Flotation reagents, their classification and role in the process. Adsorption at phase interfaces. 10. Flotation collectors, their chemical nature and mechanisms of their action in hydrophobization of the solid phase. 11. Flotation foams, their classification, chemical characteristics and sorption methods. Functions of foamers at the liquid-gas phase interface. Formation and properties of two- and three-phase flotation foams. Measurement of foaming. Control flotation reagents, their distribution according to the role and effect in flotation. Mechanisms of action of flotation activating, suppressing and modifying agents. 12. Mechanical and technical equipment of flotation. Classification of flotation machines according to functional parameters. Flotators, mechanical, pneumatic, combined, special and developmental. Flotation equipment for wastewater treatment. Auxiliary technical equipment for flotation. 13. Technology of flotation process. Test methodology for evaluating the flotability of substances, flotability curves and their evaluation. 14. Complementary processes - division and characteristics. Thickening and dewatering of fine-grained products. Drainage equipment (tanks, sorters, centrifuges). Principle of vacuum, hyperbaric and pressure filtration.
