Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Knowledge rendered after completion of the course: knowledge of the physico-chemical and hydrodynamic properties of colloidal dispersions and the theory of aggregation processes. Skills rendered after the end of the course: The students are able to define the appropriate types of coagulation and flocculation agents for a specific application, are able to describe the kinetics and mechanism of flocculation flocculation.

Teaching methods

Individual consultations

Summary

The objective of the course is to expand on the theoretical and applied knowledge in the area of processing technologies of very fine particles and slurries. The study focuses on the theoretical basis and practical aspects of flocculation of monomineral and polycomponent suspensions and the study of action mechanisms of the individual coagulating and flocculating reagents. The application part deals with the study of technological possibilities of utilization of selective flocculation of useful constituents in the processing of fine mineral resources taking into account the technology of complex material processing.
