Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is introduce students to the discipline dealing with the management of selected types of waste. The course gives information about the waste management. Particular attention is paid to methods and applications in the process of quarrying. Acquired knowledge is the basis for optimization, measurement and management in the field of waste management.

Summary

The subject provides a comprehensive view of the handling of waste from waste sources in the area of communal and industrial waste through waste utilisation by recycling and recovery to individual methods of waste disposal. Attention is paid to waste disposal by landfilling, biological, chemical and physical- chemical methods and also individual thermal processes (combustion, pyrolysis, gasification, plasma processes). In a sufficient degree, attention is also paid to relevant legislative standards concerning waste management.
