Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course is introduce students to the discipline dealing with the management of selected types of waste. The course gives information about the waste management. Particular attention is paid to methods and applications in the process of quarrying. Acquired knowledge is the basis for optimization, measurement and management in the field of waste management.

Summary
The subject provides a comprehensive view of the handling of waste from waste
sources in the area of communal and industrial waste through waste utilisation
by recycling and recovery to individual methods of waste disposal. Attention
is paid to waste disposal by landfilling, biological, chemical and physical-
chemical methods and also individual thermal processes (combustion, pyrolysis,
gasification, plasma processes). In a sufficient degree, attention is also
paid to relevant legislative standards concerning waste management.
