Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The target of the subject is acquainting of students with monitoring of fundamental parts of environment (air, water, soil). The subject also contains an overview concerning monitoring networks and equipment for air sampling.

Teaching methods

Seminars
Individual consultations

Summary

Air quality monitoring. Design of monitoring networks and equipment for air sampling. Determination of proportion of major sources in air pollution, quantification of proportion of pollution sources situated outside areas observed. Research, check and special measurements (carried out by means of special vehicles, aerial survey of pollution, etc.). Water quality monitoring. Design of monitoring networks and water sampling equipment. Soil quality monitoring. Bioindication of environmental condition. World importance of environmental monitoring (GEMS).
