Summary
The subject covers the assessment of atmospheric pollutants, assessment of
water, soil, waste and assessment of physical-chemical pollution. It describes
their properties, origin, environmental impacts, interactions. Pollutant and
waste categorization and division. Expression of their concentrations and
conversion. Assessment of their acting and impacts on human health and natural
environment. Air, water and soil pollution. Global environmental pollution –
acid rains, ozone layer, climate changes, smogs. Consequences of environmental deterioration. Food chain contamination. Toxicity and genotoxicity of pollutants. Persistence and bioaccumulation of pollutants.
